At Intel Vision 2022 , Intel announced its new 12th generation mobile processor family, aimed at workstations. According to Intel, the Core HX series processors use desktop-caliber silicon in a mobile package. Like what?
Intel Core HX 12th Generation
In a press release received by Yang sophisticated , Wednesday (11/5), Intel explained that the 12th Generation Core HX is designed to provide high performance in handling professional workflows such as CAD, animation, and visual effects. There are three models available, including Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9.
“With the latest core architecture and higher power limits on the 12th Gen Intel Core HX processors, we enable content creators to handle the most demanding workflows like never before – for example, executing 3D renders in the background while continuously iterating. on other 3D assets on screen,” said Chris Walker, Intel corporate vice president and general manager, Mobility Client Platforms.
Chris added, users no longer need to wait until the workload that is very heavy on the processor is finished to keep being creative. Gamers and content creators will also have access to high-bandwidth platform technologies such as PCIe Gen 5 with RAID support, and support for ECC memory to ensure a high level of system data integrity and reliability.
The 12th Gen Intel Core HX offers up to 16-cores consisting of 8 performance cores and 8 efficient cores, as well as 24 threads of 55W base power only. Interestingly, according to Intel, this is the first mobile processor series in the industry that has been unlocked and can be overclocked.
Not to forget Intel also provides memory support up to 128 GB DDR5/LPDDR5 (up to 4800MHz/5200MHz) and DDR4 (up to 3200MHz/LPDDR4 4267MHz) with Error Correcting Code (ECC) capabilities. This processor also supports Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E (Gig+) for better connectivity.
Launching 2022
Intel says that currently there are more than 10 workstation and gaming designs powered by the 12th Generation Intel Core HX processors. A number of OEMs such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others are planning to launch it in 2022, although they haven’t announced an exact date yet.
