Blackmagic Design announced the BMPCC 6K (G2). The second generation of the BMPCC 6K video camera is arguably an improved version of the first generation, which was released three years ago.
Features of Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2)
The design still looks the same. The difference is, the Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2) is now equipped with a 5-inch tiltable flexible screen. The battery is also bigger. The Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2) uses the same battery as the Blackmagic BMPCC 6K Pro. In addition, BMPCC 6K (G2) also supports the use of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF electronic window module accessory.
The sensor is still the same. BMPCC 6K (G2) still uses the Super 35 sensor with a resolution of 6144 x 3456 pixels. This camera supports the use of Canon lenses with an EF mount.
For color settings, the Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2) uses the same “generation 5 color science” standards as the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K. So, this camera can record skin tone with more accuracy and better dynamic range.
Another update is in the firmware. Blackmagic brings firmware update 7.9 for all Blackmagic video cameras. Through this firmware update, the sensing-motion feature on all Blackmagic Pocket Cinema video cameras will be activated. So, when the video is edited via the Davinci Resolve application, the user can take advantage of the stabilization data recorded by the sensor to stabilize the image.
Price Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2)
Blackmagic BMPCC 6K (G2) is available and sold for US$1995.
