Along with the longer the diagonal of the smartphone screen from time to time, of course, the greater the pressure exerted on the glass when the cellphone is dropped. In addition, the larger size of the device also makes it heavier too, and of course it will cause more problems when it falls.
That is the reason Corning continues to improve the durability of its products in order to adapt to today’s smartphone designs. Not only does it not break, the protective glass of the cellphone must also be resistant to scratches. Even on some flagship phones, protective glass is not only installed on the screen, but also on the back.
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is designed to have better durability, even when the phone is dropped on a hard surface like concrete. Through its internal testing, Victus 2 is claimed to be able to survive from a height of 1 meter when it falls onto concrete. Meanwhile, if the cellphone is dropped onto an asphalt surface, Corning promises that its newest glass can withstand a height of up to 2 meters.
Availability schedule
There is no definite information when the first cell phone protected by glass Victus 2 will hit the market. But reportedly users can expect the device to be available in the next few months.
