Dell released a series of business class laptops for 2023. In the premium segment, the Latitude 9440 will replace the previous Latitude 9430. What updates does it bring?
Dell Latitude 9440 specifications
The first update is in the kitchen spur sector. The Latitude 9440 now uses a 13th Generation Intel Core processor. Previously, the Latitude 9430 used a 12th generation Intel Core processor.
Processor options available up to Intel Core i7. Entering the business laptop class, there are also options with Intel vPro processors for more reliable security features. The RAM option can be configured up to 64GB. Meanwhile, the storage space uses an SSD with a choice of capacities of up to 2TB.
The screen sector is also improved. The screen frame looks thinner. According to Dell, the Latitude 9440 offers the highest screen-to-body ratio in the 14-inch business laptop class. Provides a 7% wider viewing area when compared to other premium business laptops. Nevertheless, the overall dimensions of the Latitude 9440 are still the same as the Latitude 9430.
The 14-inch touch screen panel that it carries uses an IPS panel with a QHD + resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The screen is reinforced with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 DX, supports a brightness level of 500 nits and 100% sRGB color coverage. Very sufficient to support daily productivity.

Turning to features, the Latitude 9440 now brings a new keyboard and touchpad design. The keyboard carries a zero-lattice design. In contrast to a standard keyboard the size of the keys is wider and without gaps. This keyboard design is claimed to be more responsive and comfortable to use for typing all day long. As a complement to the keyboard, it also features a backlit lamp with mini-LED technology which is more power efficient.
Shifting to the touchpad area, the Latitude 9440 still maintains the Collaboration Touchpad like the previous generation. Collaboration Touchpad from Dell brings an additional four dedicated hotkeys to support video conferencing. The four buttons include microphone, camera, screen sharing and chat buttons. The difference is, the touchpad area is now wider with haptic functions and responses that can be adjusted to the user.
Other features of the Latitude 9440 include support for Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Full HD webcam with an IR sensor and cover features to protect privacy, and an optional fingerprint sensor. This laptop has also been designed according to MIL-STD 810H military standards, meets Intel Evo standards and is equipped with Dell Optimizer smart features, as well as Dell’s mainstay security features such as SafeBIOS and SafeID.

The Latitude 9440 is confirmed to be available in the coming months. Even so, there is no more detailed information on how much the selling price will be on the market.
