The Intel Core 13th Gen (Raptor Lake) Mobile processor family was officially announced at CES 2023. There are four processor variants available. Among them are the HX-Series, H-Series, P-Series and U-Series. Like the previous Intel Core 12th Gen processors, the Intel Core 13th Gen processor family continues to carry a hybrid architecture with the innovative P-Core and E-Core.

Intel Core 13th Gen HX-Series

At the highest caste is the Intel Core 13th Gen HX Series which offers fast performance for gaming laptops and mobile workstations. There are 9 processor variants in the HX Series line. Among them are Core i5-13450HX, Core i5-13500HX, Core i5-13600 HX, Core i7-13650HX, Core i7-13700HX, Core i7-13850HX, Core i9-13900HX, Core i9-13950HX and Core i9-13980HX.

Through this processor, Intel promises very fast performance in the same class as a desktop PC. So, the performance has increased significantly when compared to the previous generation.

Intel Core 13th Gen HX Series comes with a TDP of 55W. This processor carries a P-Core (Performance Core) and E-Core (Efficiency Core) configuration of up to 24 cores which can be found in the Intel Core i9-13980HX, Core i9-13950HX, and Core i9-13900HX. All three carry the design of 8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficiency Cores.

From Intel’s test results, the Core i9-13950HX managed to outperform the previous generation Core i9-12900HK. The performance increase is around 11% faster for single-threaded scenarios and up to 49% in multi-threaded scenarios. In addition, for gaming scenarios, the performance of the Core i9-13950HX also increases by up to 12% when compared to the Core i9-12900HX. This fast performance even managed to outperform the Apple M1 Max and M2 processors. All processors in the HX-series line have also been unlocked, which means they are ready to be overclocked.

Intel Core 13th Gen H-Series

Then, for Intel Core 13th Gen H-Series there are 11 variants available. Starting from the Intel Core i5-13420H to the fastest Intel Core i9-13900HK.

The Intel Core 13th Gen H-Series carries designs ranging from 8 Cores consisting of 4 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores in the Core i5 model and up to 14 Cores consisting of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores with the Intel Core model i9.

All Intel Core 13th Gen H-Series processors have a TDP of 45W and support Intel Movidius Vision Processing Unit (VPU) technology. Movidius is a separate discrete AI module to perform various modern features such as blurring the background, framing the subject and compatible with Windows Studio Effects. So, these features do not burden the performance of the processor and graphics card.

Meanwhile, for performance, the Intel Core 13th Gen H-Series promises a performance increase of up to 10% in everyday productivity scenarios.

Intel Core 13th Gen P-Series and U-Series

For the thin and light laptop category, Intel has prepared two processor variants, namely the Core 13th Gen P-Series and the U-Series. Intel Core 13th Gen P-Series offers faster performance with a TDP of 28W and a larger number of P-Cores. There are four processor variants available. Among them Intel Core i5-1340P, Intel Core i5-1350P, Intel Core i7-1360P and Intel Core i7-1370O.

Intel Core i5-1340P, Intel Core i5-1350P and Intel Core i7-1360P come with 12 Cores combining 4 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. Meanwhile, the Intel Core i7-1370P has a total of 14 cores with 6 P-Cores and 8-Cores.

For Intel Core 13th U-Series processors, there are eight processor options available. Starting from Intel Core i3-1305U to Intel Core i7-1365U. The Intel Core i3 variant carries a 6-core design with 2 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores. For the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 models, the design is 10 Cores by combining 2 P-Cores and 8-Cores. All variants of the Intel Core 13th U-Series processor have a TDP of 15W.

All mobile Intel Core 13th Gen processors support the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics chip with XESS Super Sampling and Intel Arc Control features. This processor also supports the use of LP variant DDR5 and DDR4 RAM, Thunderbolt 4, and WiFi 6E connectivity.

Intel Core 13th Gen Mobile Availability

Intel Core 13th Gen Mobile can be found in more than 300 laptop models ready to launch this year through computing manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, ASUS ROG and many more.
