Garmin announced the presence of its newest smartwatch aimed at running fans, namely the Garmin Forerunner 265 Series. Interestingly, this device is the first runner’s watch equipped with GPS as well as an AMOLED screen.
Features of the Garmin Forerunner 265 Series
The Forerunner 265 Series is a lightweight watch and is supported by various monitoring features from Garmin Firstbeat Analytics, starting from VO2 max, performance conditions, training effects, and many more.
Users can also plan their training when they want to take part in the next running competition. Simply enter information about when the event will take place into the Garmin Connect calendar to receive daily training, or use Garmin Coach.
Various health features are also available. For example, Pulse Ox sensors, Body Battery, sleep quality monitors, menstrual cycles and pregnancy detectors, and others. There are also smart functions such as notifications, listening to music via Spotify or other platforms, or incident detection.
Forerunner 265 42mm is equipped with a battery that can keep it running for 24 hours in GPS mode, or up to 15 days in smartwatch mode (GPS off). While the other 46mm variant has a battery life of up to 20 hours in GPS mode, and up to 13 days in smartwatch mode.
In terms of specifications, the Forerunner 265 carries an AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The bezel material is fiber-reinforced polymer, while the strap is made of silicon. This watch has a 5 ATM rating for water resistance.
