Gigabyte launched its newest product in the storage space, namely AORUS Gen5 10000 SSD PCIe 5.0. This super fast SSD is promised to be able to provide a maximum speed of up to 12500 MB/s.

Features Gigabyte AORUS Gen5 10000 SSD PCIe 5.0

AORUS Gen5 10000 SSD PCIe 5.0 is one of the first SSDs to support the PCIe 5.0 x4 interface. This device with the Phison PS5026-E26 8-channel controller is intended for high-end class PCs, because the speed can be much higher than the current PCIe Gen4 SSD.

Even so, for now the maximum speed can only reach around 10000 MB/s, both for reading and writing. The Gigabyte R&D team is still working on a new NAND Flash IC to optimize the SSD’s potential and reach speeds of 12500 MB/s.

10000 MB/s is still a special number. For your information, this SSD uses the M.2 2280 form factor, 3D TLC NAND Flash, 2GB LPDDR4 External DDR Cache, and a capacity of up to 1TB. Gigabyte also provides a heatsink with a separate design from the SSD, so users can choose to use the built-in heatsink or something else.
