Dedicated to fpv (first person view) drone fans, GoPro has released the HERO10 Black Bones action camera. So what’s the difference between the HERO10 Black Bones and the GoPro HERO10 Black action camera?

GoPro HERO10 Black Bones features

The main difference between GoPro HERO10 Black Bones and HERO10 Black is in the weight and body design. According to GoPro, the concept of the HERO10 Black Bones is to make an action camera as light as possible. To realize this idea, GoPro did not equip this action camera with a screen, integrated speaker, and a removable battery. The HERO10 Black Bones is also not designed to be dust and water resistant like other GoPro action cameras.

Without this feature, the HERO10 Black Bones only weighs 54 grams. The lightest of all GoPro action cameras. With this very light weight, the GoPro HERO10 Black Bones is ideal for flying with fpv drones.

The body design is also different from other GoPro action cameras. In the body design there is a large ventilator. Its function is similar to a radiator. Air will continue to flow into the body to cool the sensors and processor while the drone is flying. So, HERO10 Black Bones will not overheat when recording videos at high resolution continuously.

One thing that is interesting is that the specifications of the GoPro HERO10 Black Bones are the same as the GoPro HERO10 Black. This action camera can record video up to 5K/30p, 4K/60p or 2.7K/120p resolutions in 4:3 aspect ratio. To ensure smoother video recording, the GoPro HERO10 Black Bones is still equipped with the HyperSmooth 4.0 stabilizer feature. The sales package also includes a license for the GoPro ReelSteady stabilizer software which is available on the GoPro Player and ReelSteady desktop applications.

GoPro HERO10 Black Bones can be controlled in various ways. To start video recording the user can press the shutter button on the body. You can also use the Quik App on your cellphone, Remote by GoPro remote control, GoPro Labs QR Codes or drone transmitters. GoPro claims that this latest action camera can quickly connect to various fpv drones in the 3-inch class or above.

GoPro HERO10 Black Bones Price

GoPro HERO10 Black Bones is available through the GoPro website at a price of US$500.
