Huawei MateBook 16: First with 16-inch 3:2 Display and AMD Ryzen Mobile 5000 Series

The Huawei MateBook 16 is the first MateBook variant to carry a 16-inch display panel with a 3:2 aspect ratio. This laptop has been released in the Chinese market since last May. Now, the MateBook 16 will officially make its global debut starting from the European region.

Huawei MateBook 16 Specifications

The Huawei MateBook 16 comes with a 16-inch IPS display panel. The panel resolution is 2K 2560 x 1680 pixels. Unlike 16-inch laptops in general, the display panel is framed with very thin bezels. The aspect ratio of the screen panel to the body reaches 90 percent. This can be realized thanks to the special MateBook webcam hidden in the keyboard area.

The Huawei MateBook 16 display panel supports 100% sRGB color gamut. The color is also ensured accurate. Huawe has been calibrated from the manufacturer to a standard delta E of less than 2. So, ideal for productivity to content creation.

Performance is also a priority. The MateBook 16 is claimed to be the first MateBook laptop to offer high performance. The MateBook 16 specifications rely on the AMD Ryzen Mobile 5000 series processor. Options available with Ryzen 7 5800H or Ryzen 5 5600H. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and available SSD storage space with a capacity of 512GB.

For other features, the Huawei MateBook 16 is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, supported by WiFi6, and carries two 2W front-facing stereo speakers. This laptop is also supported by the Huawei Share feature. This feature can allow Huawei phone users to share screens or control the phone from the Huawei MateBook.

If you are interested, the price of the Huawei MateBook 16 starts at US $1274 for the model with Ryzen 5. For Ryzen 7 the price starts at US $1390.
