Huawei MateBook E: Microsfot Surface Pro 8 Challenger with 2.5K OLED Display

Huawei announced the presence of the MateBook E. This 2-in-1 laptop will be a tight competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 8 with a lower selling price.

Features of Huawei MateBook E

The Huawei MateBook E comes with a detachable 2-in-1 concept . The screen can be removed from the keyboard dock for use as a tablet.

So, don’t be surprised if the body design is thin and light. Its thickness is only about 7.9 mm. Meanwhile, it weighs about 709 grams. In the display sector, the MateBook E carries a 12.6-inch OLED display panel. The resolution is 2560 x 1600 pixels with a maximum brightness of 400 nits. So, we can be sure the display on the screen will look very sharp.

Entering the kitchen, the Huawei MateBook E is powered by an 11th generation Intel Core processor. The choices are Intel Core i5-1130G7 and Intel Core i7-1160G7 with Intel Iris Xe graphics chip. RAM configurations are available with 8GB or 16GB options. Meanwhile, the storage space uses an SSD with a capacity of up to 1TB. For the operating system, the MateBook E will run Windows 11.

Powered by an Intel Core 11th gen Huawei MateBook E carries a Thunderbolt 4 port. Just like the Microsoft Surface Pro 8. In addition, there is WiFi6, Bluetooth 5.1 and the touch screen supports stylus pen input. Huawei also equips it with an 8-megapixel front camera for video conferencing, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and four pairs of speakers with Huawei Sound.

The Huawei MateBook E is powered by a 42Wh battery. For productivity use, the battery can be used for up to about 8 hours. It also supports fast recharge feature. The battery can be charged up to about 54% in just half an hour.

Huawei MateBook E will be available first in the Chinese market. For the price of the Huawei MateBook E with Intel Core i5 starting at US $ 938. This price is cheaper than the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 which starts at US $ 1099.
