Huawei’s latest tablet has a variety of advanced features for play and work. Here’s the review.
With the Smart Office concept, Huawei created its newest tablet, the MatePad Pro 11. This is a tablet designed to increase the productivity of its users. But after we put it to the test, the MatePad Pro 11 is more than just a work tool.
Huawei MatePad Pro 11 Design
With a body that is 5.9mm thick and weighs only 449 grams, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is the thinnest and lightest 11-inch tablet to date. This light weight is very pronounced if you replace the laptop with this tablet while working or presenting at a client’s place.
The physical design gives a minimalist and professional impression. In accordance with Huawei’s vision which wants to provide the experience of using a PC on this tablet.

The 11-inch OLED screen has the highest screen-to-body ratio, at 92%. This means the screen frame is very thin. But what we like the most is the quality of the display. The screen of this tablet has a sharp 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Huawei calls it Real Color FullView Display to emphasize that the color reproduction on this tablet screen will be accurate according to the original color of the object displayed. And it really shows when we use it. The deep black color, as well as brilliant color reproduction that is not over-adjusted spoil our eyes who are still using computers with ordinary screens. The brightness level of the screen which reaches 600 nits is also very bright.
The screen’s response to touch is swift and fluid. Navigating menus, playing games and running various other applications can be done comfortably. No lag was felt when we tried it for various applications. In short, the thin and light body does not make Huawei compromise to provide the best in this tablet.
Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil
The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 purchase package includes a body cover and keyboard cover that can be attached to each other using a magnetic mechanism. When installed with a keyboard, this tablet instantly transforms into a tiny laptop. Uniquely, this keyboard also doubles as a Wi-Fi signal booster thanks to the hidden antenna.

Another unique thing, you can still use this keyboard in a state regardless of the tablet considering this keyboard uses a Bluetooth connection. Huawei calls it Split Mode.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 keyboard is comfortable to use, with a fairly deep press distance of each key. It’s not as deep as most keyboard keys on a laptop, but it’s still very adequate for fast typing for long periods of time.

If it fits snugly, the keyboard will stick firmly so it’s hard to accidentally slip it off. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Huawei M-Pencil generation 2, which is quite easy to accidentally detach when affixed to the tablet body.
Fortunately, the pencil provided in this purchase package is very responsive when used to quickly draw sketches, sign documents and write notes. Charging the Pencil battery is also easy, just stick the stylus on the bottom right side or the top right if the tablet is in landscape position .
Rush performance
Huawei MatePad Pro 11 relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory to be reliable while working. And these specifications are more than enough to run Harmony OS 3.0 and various applications available in the Huawei App Gallery smoothly. Unfortunately, the availability of apps in the Huawei App Gallery is still far below the Google Play Store so we had to use APK Pure to find some of the apps we wanted.
Once installed, various games such as Puzzle Quest Magic The Gathering can be run smoothly and seamlessly. Likewise when we draw with the Mojing Paint application. The combination of M Pencil which has low latency, 120Hz screen and fast performance is indeed able to provide a good user experience.

Those who still frequently conduct online meetings using Zoom or other applications will like the quality of this tablet’s front camera. In comparable light conditions, the image emitted by this tablet camera is better than a other laptop webcam. Likewise, the photos on the rear camera are not inferior to middle-class cellphone cameras.
One feature that makes Huawei devices comfortable to support work productivity is the Super Device. With this feature, you can connect various devices ranging from tablets, laptops, IoT devices and smartphones to interact with each other quickly and easily. For example, there is the Mirror feature which allows you to manipulate the laptop screen with the pen on the tablet. You can also turn your tablet into an external monitor for your Huawei laptop. But unfortunately this cool feature is still limited to Huawei devices only.
Convenient for multimedia
The stunning quality of the OLED screen was also accompanied by a capable audio performance. Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is the first tablet to adopt Huawei Sound. This thin tablet turns out to have packed 6 speakers whose functions are distinguished to reproduce low and high frequency sounds in harmony. The result is quite noticeable when playing movies or games with booming sound effects. The bass boom is quite noticeable at close range, better than tablets and laptops in its class. This feature is also effective when listening to music, with clear vocals and instruments.
For those who like to watch Korean dramas or TV series marathons, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 battery also lasts quite a long time. Up to 11 hours for continuous video playback. If used for work, this tablet should be able to last more than 11 hours before having to charge the battery.
Laptop Flavor Tablet
Depending on the application being run, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 can be used according to Huawei’s vision which places it as one of the elements in the Smart Office ecosystem. The sales package which includes a keyboard and a stylus pen is one of the main attractions for potential buyers.
Fast performance, brilliant screen quality, and a variety of features that make working and playing fun make this MatePad Pro 11 a very light laptop-like tablet. The only thing that will be an obstacle for some users is the absence of Google services on this tablet.
At a price of USD $805, this tablet is clearly cheaper than the Apple iPad Pro 11 which is identical in price but does not have a keyboard and stylus pen. For those of you who need a fast, thin tablet with a stunning screen and sound, and don’t need Google services, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is highly recommended.
