Instagram’s New ‘Notes’ and ‘Candid Stories’ Features

Instagram brings a series of new features including Instagram Notes and Candid Stories which involve more users. There are features that users can already enjoy and some are still waiting to be launched and pass the testing stage.

The Instagram Notes feature might be a feature on the list that can be used by many users. In an Instagram blog post, the “Notes” feature is described as a place to help users express themselves more spontaneously.

Instagram Notes are specifically designed to consist of 60 characters of text as well as emojis. Like a status that users can update on WhatsApp or Facebook.

Some users in Indonesia may have tried it and can find it at the top of incoming messages. Only a list of close friends or users who follow each other can see the note.

The notes will appear for 24 hours similar to how Instagram Stories work, later each reply to “Notes” will appear as a direct message or Direct Message. Furthermore, several updates were brought for the “Stories” feature such as “Add Your nominations” to “Candid Stories”.

Previously in 2021, Instagram users were introduced to “Add Yours” which helps create sharing thoughts so that unique moments become more enjoyable. The fun of using this feature is added by testing the “Add Your nomination”, when this feature is used, users can forward it to other users that might cross your mind.

This feature is more or less the same as the activity of resending messages either in short messages or via e-mail. Not only that, another update that was brought was “Candid Stories”.

“Candid Stories” can be used for users to share experiences and daily excitement at that time only with selected friends. Unlike the “Close Friends” concept, this feature enables the “multi-author” concept so that the experience of replying to stories becomes easier.

This feature is still in the testing phase and is also being implemented on Facebook Stories. There is also a feature that can be used in groups called “Collaborative Collections”. Later users and friends with the same interests can have a “Collections” together and can fill it either by saving it directly or via DM.
