    Lenovo YOGA 6 . Review

Lenovo brings the YOGA 6 update. Replacing the previous AMD Ryzen 4000 series processor, YOGA 6 is now powered by the AMD Ryzen 5000-series processor. Curious about the performance of this most compact 2-in-1 convertible YOGA variant? Check out his review as follows.

    Lenovo YOGA 6 . design

Lenovo YOGA 6 retains the premium design typical of the YOGA line. For the unit we received, it comes in Abyss Blue body color. Another option is also available with a case covered with Fabric material. Can be selected for those of you who want to be different.

Overall the body design is quite slim. Its weight which is around 1.3 kg is also relatively light. It’s not the thinnest and lightest in the YOGA line. However, its dimensions are still ideal for traveling. This laptop also won’t take up much space in the bag. Bringing a 13.3-inch screen panel, the body design is indeed very compact.

In the 2-in-1 convertible YOGA line, the screen hinge can be rotated 360 degrees. The design is pretty solid. Folding the screen to switch usage modes from laptop, stand, tablet and tent can be done very easily.

For connectivity on the left side, there is one USB-C port (supports data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4), one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack port. On the right side, there is one USB-C port (supports data transfer support and DisplayPort 1.4) and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A (Supports Always-on feature for recharging other devices’ batteries).

    Lenovo YOGA 6 . Screen

In the screen sector, the Lenovo YOGA 6 brings a 13.3-inch IPS touch screen panel. The design is quite contemporary with a thin screen frame on the left and right sides of the panel.

The screen resolution is Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. Meanwhile, the color standard on the panel supports 72% NTSC. The display on the screen looks sharp. The colors are pretty accurate too. It can still be relied on for content creation needs to enjoy multimedia content.

The touch screen response with a finger or a stylus pen is also very good. In the sales package, Lenovo has included the Lenovo Digital Pen stylus pen. This stylus pen supports input sensitivity of up to 4096 pressure levels. Comfortable and precise enough to use for writing or drawing.

Lenovo YOGA 6 . keyboard and trackpad

Lenovo YOGA 6 comes with Lenovo’s signature chicklet-style keyboard. Despite the compact dimensions, the distance between the buttons still feels right. The buttons are also not too flush with the body. Very comfortable to use for typing. Not to forget the keyboard is also equipped with a white backlit lamp which is useful for accompanying typing activities in dim conditions.

This laptop mouse trackpad area is quite large. The surface is coated with glass material. Responsive with finger touch and supports Precision TouchPad. When pressed the left and right click buttons are also not noisy and comfortable to press.

    Lenovo YOGA 6 . Audio

In the audio sector, YOGA 6 brings front-facing 1.5W stereo speakers. The placement of the speakers is on the left and right of the keyboard. The audio sector has also received Dolby Atmos support. From our tests, the sound quality produced by the speakers is quite clear. However, it does feel less powerful. Sufficient enough to enjoy a variety of multimedia content.

    Features of Lenovo YOGA 6

All the excellent features of the YOGA line can also be found in YOGA 6. Call it an IR webcam with Windows Hello support and a webcam cover feature to protect privacy. There is also a fingerprint sensor that can be found under the keyboard.

To make setting easier, Lenovo Vantage feature support is available. In Lenovo Vantage, you can find several built-in features from Lenovo. Such as Conservation Mode, Rapid Charge for fast recharge, and always-on usb charging. Lenovo Vantage also provides performance scanner features, check system updates to access to keyboard settings, audio to webcam.

Lenovo YOGA 6 is also supported by the Lenovo Q-Control feature. There are three performance settings options to choose from, namely Battery Saving, Intelligent Cooling and Extreme Performance. In addition, there is also support for the Lenovo Smart Assist smart feature.

Through this feature, users can enjoy a series of smart features. Like for example unlock or auto lock screen by detecting user presence and privacy protection. For privacy protection at Glance, the Privacy Guard and Privacy Alert features are available.

Privacy Guard will automatically make the screen display blurry or blurry when its smart infrared camera detects the presence of other people peeking at the screen. Then, Privacy Alert will immediately notify the user the screen is being watched.

    Lenovo YOGA 6 . Performance

Lenovo YOGA 6 comes with two processor configuration options with AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and AMD Ryzen 7 5700U. For the model we are reviewing below, we use the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U. The amount of RAM it carries is 16GB. No option for upgrade. Meanwhile, the storage space relies on a PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe SSD with a capacity of 512GB. The benchmark results are as follows.

The use of daily productivity such as processing documents and browsing performance is very adequate. Feels fast and almost without lag. Open and close the application feels fast. Multitasking, opening several applications at once or opening tabs in a large number of browsers also feels smooth. To enjoy multimedia content, YOGA 6 with GPU AMD Radeon graphics can be relied upon to play high-resolution video content. You can also still rely on it to play light games. It’s pretty good even though this laptop is not in the gaming laptop category.

Shifting to thermal management YOGA 6 is indeed not the best among other YOGA variants that we have tried. The cooling system is capable enough to maintain the laptop’s temperature so that performance remains stable. However, the surface area of the keyboard feels warm at maximum performance conditions, especially in the center area and the right side. Fortunately, the performance of this laptop cooling fan is relatively quiet.

    Lenovo YOGA 6 . Battery

Carrying the AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor, one advantage of YOGA 6 is power efficiency. As usual, testing the battery life, we connected it to WiFi, activated the Windows power saver feature, FN + Q battery saving, screen brightness level of 30%, without turning on the Bluetooth feature, keyboard backlight, and Location. With these settings for the use of typing and browsing we can get a usage time of up to about 11 hours. It is sufficient to support outdoor productivity for high mobility users.

    Conclusion

Thermal management and audio sector is not the best among other YOGA variants. However, through YOGA 6 Lenovo has succeeded in realizing the ideal 2-in-1 convertible laptop with a compact design and fast performance for various needs. The premium design and economical battery life are also a plus in its class. For sale at a starting price of 15 million Rupiah YOGA 6 is the most compact and cheap premium YOGA convertible 2-in-1 laptop that you can buy right now.

Lenovo YOGA 6 is suitable for:

Highly mobile users : Its compact dimensions and battery life are ideal for mobile users.

Students and students : Its premium design also makes YOGA 6 not only an option for workers but also for students.

Creative workers : Supported by a touch screen and a stylus YOGA 6 can be relied on for illustrators, graphic designs to content creators.

Multimedia connoisseurs : The flexible 2-in-1 convertible design and Dolby Atmos supported audio are suitable for users who like to enjoy multimedia content such as watching videos on Netflix or Youtube.
