LG raises the standard of monitors for users who like multitasking. The latest monitor, DualUp Monitor (28MQ780), looks unique with an unusual screen aspect ratio of 16:18.
Features of LG DualUp Monitor (28MQ780)
According to LG, the 16:18 aspect ratio display is a new screen ratio and a first for a PC monitor. The aspect ratio of this screen offers an aspect ratio equivalent to that of two 21.5-inch monitors.
With this unique aspect ratio, the screen panel of the LG DualUp Monitor (28MQ780) is indeed wider up. So, it is specifically designed for use in a vertical position. The screen is also claimed to further reduce head movement from side to side which can cause neck pain.

To support multitasking, LG includes a Split View feature. This feature allows the display on the screen to split into two upper and lower halves to open two application windows at the same time.
For the panel, the LG DualUp Monitor (28MQ780) carries a 27.6-inch IPS display panel with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 2880 pixels. The display panel supports standard DCI-P3 98% color coverage and a maximum brightness level of up to 300 nits. It’s a shame that the LG DualUp Monitor (28MQ780) doesn’t support the HDR standard yet. Even though the current lowest HDR standard is HDR400.
