LG Electronics has succeeded in breaking into the gaming monitor segment. His two monitors, the LG Ultragear 27GP950 and 27GP850, have become the first in the world to receive the VESA AdaptiveSync certification.

VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display

VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display is the new standard created for gaming monitors. The focus is on high refresh rates and low latency performance on panels at native resolutions. To date, the VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display provides the standard for refresh rates of 144, 165, 240, 360, and higher.

According to LG, to get this certification, the two LG gaming monitors must meet the testing standards set by VESA. There are more than 50 test criteria to assess the ability of the Varible Refresh Rate (VRR) on gaming monitors and laptops.

The LG Ultragear 27GP950 and 27GP850 which carry the LG AdaptiveSync Display adaptive synchronization technology have successfully passed all the tests from VESA. Including, testing refresh rate, screen flicker , low latency and response time.

Both of these gaming monitors come with LG Nano IPS panels. The LG 27GP850 is QHD and 4K resolution for the LG 27GP950. For the refresh rate, the LG 27GP850 supports 165Hz (expandable to 180 Hz) and 144Hz (expandable to 165 Hz) for the LG 27GP950. Meanwhile, both response times are the same, namely 1 millisecond GTG (Gray-To-Gray).

Besides having the VESA Certified AdaptiveSync Display standard, these two monitors also support Nvidia G-Sync Sync technology and AMD FreeSync Premium.
