In June 2021 the presence of the Nikon Z fc mirrorless is accompanied by a new lens, the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 (SE). This lens comes with a retro design that is in harmony with the design of the Nikon Z fc. Now, Nikon has announced the exact same lens, the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8.

Features of Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8

Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 and Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 SE differ only in design. Without the “SE” label, the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 comes with a more modern design standard with Nikkor Z lenses. The color is all black. Unlike the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 SE, which adds a touch of silver in the lens barrel ring area.

The advantage of the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 is its very compact and lightweight body design. With a body length of about 4.3 cm and a weight of only 155 grams, the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 is the most compact and lightest Nikkor Z prime lens. So, it will be very easy to travel with.

The Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 features a nine-element lens design in eight groups. Includes, two aspherical lens elements. It is reliable enough to take close-up photos, such as photographing food or product photos. With a focal length of 28mm, this lens is also ideal for landscape, portrait and street photography.

In the autofocus sector, the Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 carries multi-focusing system technology. According to Nikon, the autofocus system is capable of tracking focus with fast and precise performance. The performance of the focus motor is also claimed to be very quiet with consistent exposure control . So, it can be relied on for video capture.

The Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 is scheduled to be available in the market in December 2021. The Nikkor Z 28mm F2.8 price is US$300.
