Sony recently confirmed that the PlayStation VR2 will launch in February 2023. Compared to the previous generation, gamers can certainly expect a variety of technological improvements. Like what?
PlayStation VR2 Specifications
PlayStation VR2 carries an OLED display with a resolution of 2000 x 2040 each (left and right). This panel has a refresh rate of 90Hz to 120Hz, with a viewing angle of about 110 degrees.
Sony embeds a variety of sensors ranging from Motion Sensors in the form of a 6-axis motion sensing system (3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer), and Attachment Sensors in the form of IR Proximity Sensors. There are 4 cameras for the headset and controller tracking, as well as an IR Camera for eye tracking.
The headset also supports vibration and connects to the PlayStation 5 via USB Type-C. For audio matters, the PS VR2 has a built-in microphone and a stereo headphone jack output.
Gamers will also find a Bluetooth controller equipped with a Six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope + three-axis accelerometer), Capacitive Sensor in the form of Finger Touch Detection, and IR LED for Position Tracking.
Even more interesting, Sony also announced 11 new game titles for PS VR2, including The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, The Light Brigade, Cities VR – Enhanced Edition, Cosmonious High, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, Jurassic. World Aftermath Collection, Pistol Whip VR, Zenith: The Last City, After The Fall, and Tentacular.

Price and availability
PlayStation VR2 is scheduled to launch on February 22, 2023 at a price of USD $675. Gamers can also choose PS VR2 bundling with Horizon Call of the Mountain for USD $733. There is also a Charging Station for the controller which is sold for USD $57. For those who are interested, pre-orders are open from November 15, 2022.
