Prevent Heat, Galaxy S22 Series 5G Relies on New Heat Transfer Technology

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Series 5G is equipped with a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which has powerful performance to support various needs. Generally, very fast performance is accompanied by a large energy requirement so that the temperature becomes hot easily. To prevent problems like this, Samsung has a solution.

Heat Transfer with Gel-TIM and nano-TIM

The Galaxy S22 Series 5G is equipped with an advanced cooling system technology called Heat Transfer. The main principle is to remove heat from the source and distribute it to keep the temperature of the smartphone at a safe and controlled level.

Unlike the cooling system on most smartphones, Heat Transfer on the Galaxy S22 Series 5G is made with a new structure that also uses different materials. With this combination, Heat Transfer technology is able to reduce heat more optimally.

Then, what is the structure and material like? The first is about the material used to transfer heat, also known as Thermal Interface Material (TIM). Samsung relies on a new thermal paste called Gel-TIM on its CPU, which is able to transfer heat 3.5 times more efficiently than the previous generation. That way, heat transfer becomes faster.

On top of Gel-TIM, Samsung added a layer called nano-TIM. This layer protects against electromagnetic interference. Nano-TIM is made of flexible nano-fiber material, making it more resistant to pressure. For your information, the previous model used a solid or inflexible material.

Besides being more effective, nano-TIM also transfers heat more quickly to the Vapor Chamber, a steam room to disperse heat. Previously, the Vapor Chamber was attached to the board . However, as smartphone batteries get bigger and board sizes get smaller, Samsung had to find another location to put the Vapor Chamber.

The new Vapor Chamber on the Galaxy S22 Series 5G is designed to span the area from the processor to the battery, allowing for more efficient heat transfer. This Vapor Chamber is made of a double stainless steel structure which is made thin and covers a wider area, but still with high durability. From the Vapor Chamber, heat is transferred to the graphite sheet which spreads the heat horizontally and away from the Vapor Chamber.

All these innovations in terms of hardware are combined with temperature management software that optimizes each operation to control heat. The end result, the Galaxy S22 Series 5G is a device that remains cool and comfortable to use even when invited to carry out activities that require high performance, such as playing games or recording videos, for a long duration.

Price of Galaxy S22 Series 5G

The Samsung Galaxy S22 5G and Galaxy S22+ 5G are available in Phantom White, Phantom Black, Green, and Rose Gold color options. While the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is available in Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, and Burgundy colors. For those who are interested, here is the complete price list:
