ProGrade CFast 2.0 Cobalt 3rd Generation: The Fastest ProGrade CFast Memory Card, Up to 640GB Capacity

ProGrade manufacturer announced the third generation of CFast 2.0 Cobalt memory cards. Unlike the previous generation, this third generation offers the fastest read and write performance.

Fitur ProGrade CFast 2.0 Cobalt 3rd Generation

According to ProGrade, read speeds can be up to 550MB/s and writes up to 520MB/s. For continuous write speeds can be up to around 470MB/sec. This memory card has also received V130 certification. Thus, it is certain that the read-write speed will not fall below 130MB/sec.

CFast 2.0 Cobalt 3rd Generation will be available with two capacity options. Among them 320GB and 640GB. This memory card has also been designed to be tough with a variety of durability features. Among them, shockproof, X-ray resistant, and withstand extreme temperatures from -40 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees Celsius.

Even so, even though it offers the fastest performance a CFast 2.0 memory card still can’t beat the speed of a CFexpress memory card. For example, the CFexpress Type A memory card with a more compact size is capable of offering read speeds of up to 800MB/s and writes of around 700MB/s. In fact, CFexpress Type B can be faster, up to 1700MB/s for read and write speeds of up to 1500MB/s.

This makes CFast 2.0 memory cards less popular than CFExpress memory cards. There are not many cameras that use CFast 2.0 memory cards on the market. Only certain cameras, such as ARRI and Blackmagic Design cinema class cameras, still use them.

    Price and availability

ProGrade CFast 2.0 Cobalt 3rd Generation is now available. The 320GB capacity is priced at US$329.99 and US$599.99 for the 640GB capacity.
