Razer announced the presence of its newest product from the gaming mouse category, which is named the Viper 8K. Interestingly, Razer claims the Viper 8K is the world’s first gaming mouse with a polling rate of 8000 Hz, making it the fastest in its class.
Razer Viper 8K specifications
In a press release received by Yangcisticated, Friday (29/1), Razer explained that the Viper 8K is supported by HyperPolling 8000 Hz technology which is said to be higher than other standard gaming mice which generally only have a 1000 Hz polling rate.
With a higher polling rate, the Razer Viper 8K is able to provide much better responsiveness and speed. HyperPolling technology gives the Razer Viper 8K high click speeds and positional data, when transmitted to a PC.

Moreover, with the higher PC specs and the higher refresh rate of monitors, higher polling rates can also eliminate annoying micro-stutters, and are promised to significantly improve the gaming experience.
“Latency is a very important part of gameplay because it has a significant effect on the overall gaming experience. This is sometimes overlooked by several other gaming mice that focus on increasing DPI, “said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer for peripherals.
Alvin added that, unlike DPI, the low latency will benefit all sectors from casual players to professional players, as it can cut a significant few milliseconds of response time. The input delay has also been reduced from 1ms to 1/8ms!
Not only HyperPolling technology, the Razer Viper 8K is also supported by Optical Mouse Switches and Razer Focus + Optical Sensor with an accuracy of up to 99.6 percent. This mouse weighs only 71 grams and uses 100% PTFE mouse feet for smoother movement, as well as features Razer’s snag-free SpeedFlex Cable.

Price of the Razer Viper 8K
