Redmi, a sub-brand from Xiaomi has made another surprise in the smartphone market in China by launching the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. This is the fourth device in the Note 12 lineup that previously included Pro, Pro+, and Discovery Edition models.

Through its presentation, Redmi said that the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is positioned between the Pro and Pro+ models. This smartphone comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that has a punch-hole in the top center and has FHD + resolution.

Coming as an upper middle class smartphone, Redmi has also strengthened this smartphone screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 900 nits and has HDR + support. Meanwhile, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the side along with the power button.

Redmi also packs this new smartphone with the support of a rectangular camera module on the back panel that places three lenses at once. There is also support for dual stereo speakers that carry Dolby Atmos technology.

Now! The three cameras on the back consist of a 108 MP main lens with a Samsung HM2 sensor, which pairs with an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP macro lens unit. Meanwhile, on the front, Redmi buried a 16 MP camera.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset. The Qualcomm-made chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. There is also support for a 5000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

If this smartphone is removed from the sales box, consumers will find the MIUI 14 interface based on Android 12. Other embedded features include a USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, X-Axis Linear Motor and so on.

There is no news yet, when will this smartphone, which has a choice of Shimmer Green, Time Blue and Midnight Black colors, be marketed outside of China. Consumers who are interested in the lowest variant, namely 6GB/128GB, are marketed for RMB 1,699 (Rp. 3.8 million).

Meanwhile, the other variants, namely 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB, are marketed at RMB 1,799 and RMB 1,999 respectively. In China, Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition can be purchased starting December 27, 2022.
