As is known, Acer has a large number of product lines for the laptop segment in the Indonesian market. From a series of flagship products, the Aspire 5 Magical Color might be an option for those of you who want to look different. The reason is, as the name implies, this laptop has a unique color.

Are you curious about the advantages of the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color? Come on , just take a look at the reviews!

Charming gradation colors

I’m sure the first thing that will make you glance at the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color is its exterior appearance. In terms of design, there is nothing that is breakthrough when compared to laptops in general, or especially in the Acer Aspire family. What makes it different is the color finishing .

The Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color carries a color gradient that changes depending on your point of view and the direction of the light. Sometimes these laptops appear blue, but they can also appear purplish or slightly reddish, and occasionally appear mysterious dark gray.

Such a color presentation is expected to be able to attract the hearts of young people who want to look stylish by carrying a laptop with a color that is not marketable. Moreover, this gradation color covers almost the entire body of the Aspire 5 Magical Color, even in the area around the keyboard.

Acer has installed a hinge that allows the laptop to be opened up to 180 degrees. It is about 17mm thick and weighs about 1.45 kilograms. Still very ideal for traveling and quite thin in its class. Suitable for those of you whose activities are always mobile.

For the screen, the Aspire 5 Magical Color uses a 14-inch LED with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen has adopted an anti-glare coating called ComfyView (Matte), so it is not reflective, especially if you are in a place with bright light.

Just below the screen you will find a FineTip keyboard with a large touchpad that supports multi-touch. In my opinion, the keyboard itself is not that special and the feedback is not comfortable when pressed. It takes extra adaptation to get used to it and be able to type comfortably.

The speaker holes are on the bottom (left and right) in a slightly curved position so that they are not closed when the laptop is placed on a flat surface. Meanwhile, the air holes to dissipate heat are under the screen and the incoming air is below.

Connectivity

The Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color has a port that in my opinion is quite complete, including a LAN port, HDMI, 2x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1, and one USB Type-C on the left side. While on the right, there is a kensington lock, USB 2.0, and a combo audio jack. Card reader? Unfortunately there isn’t.

For wireless connectivity, the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color has been supported by WiFiax technology and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, this laptop also has an Exo Amp Antenna with 360 degree coverage so it’s better when capturing signals.

Good performance for study and work needs

This laptop with the Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system is armed with an Intel Core i3-1005G1 (4M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz), accompanied by an Intel UHD Graphics GPU and 4GB DDR4 SDRAM. The combination is standard in its price class, but looks quite tempting because it is supported by 512 GB Optane SSD storage.

When used for daily work, the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color is able to provide fairly agile performance. With notes, the workload does not require too heavy computation. Light photo and video editing is still possible.

In my opinion, the fast storage embedded by Acer is a plus. The process of booting Windows and opening applications feels fast and responsive. In theory, this laptop is ideal for those of you who need a device to increase productivity. Optane SSD itself is equipped with smart technology to speed up access to documents, images, videos and frequently used applications.

Gaming? Yes, as long as the game is not heavy. Dota 2 can run at a playable frame rate, although it’s a bit difficult to stabilize around 60 fps especially in a busy scene. Meanwhile, Counter Strike: Global Offensive can be played comfortably with a frame rate above 60 fps. My advice, upgrade RAM to dual-channel 8 GB to maximize the performance of this laptop.

A little note, when asked to do a task that demands heavy computing, the fan on the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color sounds quite noisy. It’s still understandable, the important thing is that the temperature is stable and doesn’t interfere with performance.

Then, what about the battery? In my opinion, it is quite durable for casual wearing styles. Once upon a time I used this laptop for work (the main activity is typing and browsing), and the battery can last about 10 hours. Of course, these results cannot be completely used as a benchmark, and will vary depending on your usage conditions.

Stylish laptop for young people

In essence, the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color is the ideal laptop for young people looking for a device for everyday study and work. In my opinion, the stylish design and fast storage are the two main advantages. In terms of price, this laptop is still fairly competitive.

The Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color is suitable for:

  • Students / students who want to be different can make the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color their choice. Its performance is ideal for purposes such as studying and doing assignments. For entertainment such as light gaming, you can still do it.
  • WFH employees should consider the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color to replace their old device. In terms of hardware, it is quite up to date, for example the 10th generation Intel processor, the fast 512 GB Optane SSD storage, and WiFiax.
  • Workers who are often mobile or hang out in coffee shops are also suitable for using the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color. In addition to having responsive performance, this laptop is quite thin and light so it doesn’t hurt quickly when traveling.
  • Online shop owners who need a device to run their business can choose the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color. It is much more convenient to set up an online shop from a laptop than a smartphone. The price of this laptop is also quite affordable.

The advantages of the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color:

  • A charming and unmarketable color gradation
  • The quality of the design is quite good
  • Agile and stable performance for standard everyday needs
  • Fast storage: 512GB Optane SSD
  • The battery is quite durable
  • WiFiax and Exo Amp Antenna
  • Competitive price

Weaknesses of the Acer Aspire 5 Magical Color:

  • The keyboard (in my opinion) is less comfortable
  • It would be more interesting if the keyboard was backlit
  • There is no card reader
