The era of the pandemic that forced most of the world’s population to do more activities at home also made it aware that watching movies for a long time on a cellphone screen or laptop screen. For the best entertainment experience, a large television is still the best solution at home.
Then what should be considered when looking for television for entertainment purposes? One of them, of course, is the Smart TV feature, which is now easier to find on even affordable TVs. Like the following Realme TV 4K below.
Features of realme TV 50″
This smart TV from realme uses Android OS version 10 for TV. This means you don’t have to worry about installing a full streaming application or movie player available on the Play Store. You can also sign in to your Google account on TV to sync some apps, such as playlists or search lists on YouTube.
As a TV aimed at entertainment needs, this 50″ realme TV has been equipped with many features that are usually found in higher-end TVs that are much more expensive. Call it the Dolby Vision feature which can optimize the display of movies that support this feature, as well as DTS and Dolby Atmos which provide virtual surround sound from the TV’s internal speakers for movies that support it.
Setting the various functions of this TV is very simple and easy to digest. This also emanates from the remote’s minimalist design. For example, press the button with the three-line icon and the picture and sound settings options will appear in the lower right corner.
This remote also supports Google Assistant so you can say commands to the remote to perform functions on the TV. The other function settings menus are also not complex, considering that this realme TV only provides basic settings such as picture, sound, connection, and settings for its default features.
You can choose the image display mode or adjust the display according to your taste, starting from the brightness, contrast, and color levels. There are also preset settings for various usage scenarios with very different results. For example, in the Film setting, the colors displayed tend to be warm and not conspicuous. Choose Vivid , and all colors will be rendered more mature and deeper.
Image quality
We tried to play various movies from Disney+ Hotstar in Full HD resolution and the results were satisfactory for a 50-inch TV at a price of 6 million rupiah. This TV is able to display a fairly deep black color, although it still looks gray in very dark movie scenes. Using Movie presets is an easy recipe to enjoy watching movies comfortably.

Some of the films on Disney+ Hotstar also support Dolby Vision so that they can display Dolby Vision films in HDR display which has a wider dynamic range than ordinary films. When playing 4K content, we are also quite satisfied with this realme TV. Images look sharp with unobtrusive noise in some conditions.
We also enjoyed playing Nintendo Switch games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. in Full HD resolution. By setting the manual image settings, we can get pictures that are pleasing to the eye and do not tire the eyes.
Sound quality from the internal speakers, including mediocre. Dialogue can be heard quite clearly but a bit ear-piercing when playing a high tone of voice at a loud volume. There is no subwoofer or woofer on this TV. So there’s no need to be confused why there is no booming bass when playing action movies.
Interestingly, this 50″ realme TV can play content with Dolby Atmos True HD sound. The Dolby Atmos surround effect is not too pronounced, but still understandable considering the effect is simulated from small TV speakers. But at least you can play various content in Dolby Atmos and DTS without any problems on this TV.
realme tv design
There is nothing special about the design of this TV, other than the frame which is quite thin for the price. The process of installing the plastic stand is also quite easy. Although the material is plastic, this stand feels sturdy and can support the screen well.
Various important connections such as HDMI and USB which are on the back are placed slightly to the center. This is a bit difficult if the TV is positioned close to the wall. The completeness of the connection itself is quite good, with 2 USB ports, 1 HDMI Arc port and two regular HDMI ports, optical audio, Ethernet and a 3.5mm audio port. This TV can also capture digital broadcasts, so there is no need for additional equipment if you want to display digital-based TV broadcasts that are being rolled out by the government.

Cheap TV that is not cheap
With a price of 6.3 million rupiah, the realme TV 50″ comes with features that exceed TVs in its class. There are indeed some drawbacks, but it seems excessive if we look back at the price tag. This Realme TV RMV2005 is still the most affordable 50-inch 4K TV with Android OS version 10.
