Samsung has again raised the bar for gaming monitors with curved screen panels. Through its newest monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 (G9NC) , gamers can now enjoy a gaming experience with more immersive visuals on a very large, high-resolution curved screen.
Features of the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 2023
The Odyssey Neo G9 2023 is the successor to the Odyssey Neo G9 2022 . The difference between the two is in the panel size and screen resolution. This gaming monitor comes with Quantum Mini LED curved screen panel technology measuring 57 inches and 1000R curvature. The previous generation’s panel size was only 47 inches.
The screen resolution is also higher. Odyssey Neo G9 2023 for the first time offers 8K resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels with an aspect ratio of 32:9. The equivalent of two monitors with 4K resolution. This makes the Odyssey Neo G9 2023 manage to record the achievement as the world’s first dual UHD gaming monitor.
Not only that, the Odyssey Neo G9 2023 also supports a maximum screen brightness level of 1000 nits and has pocketed the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
Turning to the connectivity sector, the Odyssey Neo G9 2023 is also the first gaming monitor with DisplayPort 2.1. This latest DisplayPort offers data transfer speeds two times faster than DisplayPort 1.4. In addition, DisplayPort 2.1 also allows the transmission of information without distortion according to the industry standard Display Stream Compression (DSC).
Price and availability
Samsung has yet to provide more detailed pricing and when the Odyssey Neo G9 2023 will be available on the market. With a larger screen panel size and higher resolution, we predict the price will be above USD $2,500.
