Samsung Space Monitor Review

Computer monitors have now become an essential tool in times of pandemic. With a large monitor, learning, work and entertainment activities will take place more comfortably.

But of course, not all homes have a large enough room or table to fit a large monitor. Fortunately, there is the latest monitor design innovation from Samsung.

Samsung Space Monitor Design

So what makes this Space Monitor different from a regular monitor? The biggest difference is the absence of a stand to support the monitor.

To place the monitor on the table, the Space Monitor uses a clamp . Then what are the benefits? Compared to conventional monitor designs in general, the Space Monitor will save more space because it doesn’t have a stand that takes up space on the table. The design is also very relevant for users who have a mediocre-sized table or like to put a lot of items on the table.

The space monitor clamp is also flexible. So you can adjust the clip angle to 90 degrees, from perpendicular, until the monitor touches the table. What needs to be paid attention to, make sure the table to be fitted with the Space Monitor is thick and strong enough so that the clasps do not come off easily.

Menu and features

The completeness of the port is minimalist and incomplete. Noted the Space Monitor is equipped with a USB Type A port, as well as Mini DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 inputs. All ports are placed on the back so it can be a little difficult to reach if you place the monitor too close to the wall.

The menu layout for setting the Space Monitor function is quite practical and simple.

To access the menu, you can use a single multi-function navigation button on the back. Apart from standard functions such as brightness, sharpness and color adjustment, there are several other interesting features.

One of them is Eye Saver Mode . If active, this mode will reduce blue light or blue light so that our eyes will be more comfortable when lingering at this monitor. Meanwhile, to save power, this monitor also has the Eco Saving Plus feature .

Then there’s Game Mode . Even though it’s not designed for serious gaming needs, the Game Mode on the SPace Monitor helps maximize visual quality when playing casual games.

Furthermore, there are PIP (Picture in Picture) and PBP (Picture By Picture) features . This feature is useful when you want to use two devices at once with one Space monitor. So later the display on the screen will be divided in two.

The condition is that the two devices must be connected to HDMI and Displayport inputs. One thing that is easy to overcome with adapters that are easily found in online stores.

Space Monitor Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Samsung 32 ″ SR75 is quite interesting. This 31.5-inch monitor has a sharp 4K UHD resolution or 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels.

Judging from the specification features, this Space Monitor is indeed more suitable for serious work and multimedia.

Even the Samsung Space Monitor supports 100% sRGB color coverage. We feel this advantage immediately when using this monitor to edit photos and videos. Especially if the application is set to use the sRGB color gamut.

For multimedia purposes such as watching 4K videos, the viewing experience is also fun. Indeed, there is no HDR feature, but it doesn’t really bother most users considering that HDR content is still minimal.

The Samsung Space Monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate with a 4ms response time. On paper, these specifications are inadequate for playing fast action games. Even so, we still try to play the game on the screen.

The display remains comfortable for gaming, as long as the expectations are not too excessive. For games with fast action like Valorant, Apex Legends, PUBG, this monitor is indeed less comfortable. But for a more relaxed game like Civilization VI, Space Monitor is still very adequate.

Space Monitor: Unique Design that Saves Space

The Samsung Space Monitor is available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, with different QHD and 4K resolutions. Not only does it have good display quality, its unique design is one of its advantages. The flexibility offered by the clamp module also deserves thumbs up.

This unique design concept is not for everyone. But at least Samsung managed to provide an attractive option for users who want to organize their work desk to make it look more neat and minimalist.

The price, which is 6.7 million rupiahs, is still the average for a 32-inch monitor with a 4K resolution.

So who is suitable to use this monitor?

  • For video editors and photo editors on a budget that need a large 4K monitor, Space Monitor will do the job.
  • For casual gamers who have a PC with high enough specifications and need a large monitor at an affordable price, and don’t play fast action games, Space Monitor can be an option.
  • For users who like to watch streaming movies like Netflix or Disney +, the Eye Saver Mode feature will be very useful when you want to watch for a long time.
  • For all PC users who crave a tidier table and not dominated by a monitor stand, Space Monitor’s unique clip design will definitely be a major plus.
  • For those of you who want to use one monitor for two devices, the PbP and PiP features make Space Monitor meet your needs.

Pros of Samsung Space Monitor

  • Strong and flexible monitor clip design
  • Menu settings are easy to understand
  • Unique PIP / PBP feature
  • The Eye Saver Mode feature is useful for users who linger at the computer
  • Prices are relatively affordable for a 32-inch 4K monitor
