Sony announced the presence of the Alpha 7R V. This camera is the first in the world to carry advanced autofocus technology called Real Time Recognition.

Rely on artificial intelligence

This autofocus technology is supported by an artificial intelligence chip or AI. Supported by the Dual Bionz XR processor, users can enjoy a 639-point autofocus system that covers 79% of the sensor area.

The autofocus system is also supported by deep learning capabilities. So, it can recognize and detect subjects such as humans, birds, animals, cars, ships, trains to insects.

His ability to detect subjects is also better. Not only can it detect the eyes and head, other body parts such as the nose, neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, knees and ankles can also be detected.

In short, this autofocus technology is much smarter. In fact, it is able to detect and recognize the subject’s pose. Sony claims, there is an increase of around 60% for Real-Time Eye AF performance and 40% for animal recognition performance.

One thing that is quite unfortunate is Real Time Recognition autofocus technology cannot be used in video mode. Instead, there is support for Real Time Tracking and wide AF features.

Sensor 61 Megapixel

The Alpha 7R V comes with the same 61 megapixel BSI Exmor R CMOS sensor as the Alpha 7R IV . But, thanks to the latest BIONZ XR processor, the sensor is claimed to be able to capture images with more detail and rich colors. Supported by the latest auto exposure system, this camera can also produce photos with more accurate skin tones in various lighting conditions.

The A7R V also supports Super-35 video recording at 4K 30p/24p/25p and 4K from 6.2k resolution video. Video can be recorded in 10-bit 4:2:2 and All-intra (XAVC SI) and HEVC (XAVC HS) codecs. Stabilization capabilities in video mode are also better with Sony’s OSS lenses.

Other features Alpha 7R V is equipped with a 3.2-inch multi-angle 4-axis touch LCD screen, supports pixel shift features to produce photos up to 200 megapixels resolution, 4K web streaming, the latest anti-dust system, and is available with two CFexpress Type A slots.
