Sony cameras in the cinema line are growing. The latest model, the Sony FR7 , is the world’s first pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera that uses a full frame sensor, E-mount lens and can be controlled remotely.
Fitur Sony FR7
FR7 is actually a Sony FX6 which was developed into a PTZ camera design. The camera module is mounted on a mount that can move with the motor system. The movement is claimed to be very precise.
The camera shift and tilt can be adjusted at a continuous speed from 0.02 degrees to 60 degrees per second. So, the movement will be very stable and smooth. The camera shift coverage is about +/- 170 degrees and the camera tilt angle can be adjusted from -3 to 195 degrees.
To make it easier for users, FR7 can store up to about 100 preset camera positions. Presets that can be saved include zoom, camera direction, and focus. This camera also supports remote control. It can be via the Web application or via the RM-IP500 remote control.
Like the FX6, the FX7 uses a full-frame Exmor R BSI-CMOS sensor with a resolution of 10.3 megapixels. The sensor supports video recording up to 4K resolution. For more cinematic shooting with slow motion, the FX7 can record at 4K resolution at 120 fps and Full HD 1080p at 240 fps. It supports ISO settings up to 409,600 and promises a dynamic range of up to 15+ stops. The camera also supports S-Cinetone, S-Log3, S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine.
In the lens sector the FX7 supports all E-mount lenses. Supported by the BIONZ XR FX7 processor, it also brings the sophistication of Sony’s autofocus feature. Such as Fast Hybrid AF, Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking.
Other features on the FX7 include an electronic ND filter, Auto ND, and a complete line of connectivity ports. This includes two HDMI Type A ports, 12G-SDI, XLR Audio, Ethernet, and two memory card slots (CFexpress Type A and SDXC).
