Sony officially announced the arrival of the SRG-A40 and SRG-A12 smart cameras . Both of these cameras are equipped with advanced artificial intelligence technology that can facilitate live streaming activities or live broadcasts.

Features of the Sony SRG-A40 and SRG-A12

Both come with a dome design similar to a surveillance camera. The only difference is in the zoom capability. On the front you can find two red and green indicator lights. Red indicates the camera is actively taking pictures. Meanwhile, if the PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) Auto Framing mode is activated the indicator light will turn green.

PTZ Auto Framing mode is the highlight of the SRG-A40 and SRG-A12. This feature is the same as the one on the Sony FR7 . Supported by artificial intelligence, both of them can lock and follow subjects very quickly and precisely to perform camera movements such as Pan, Zoom and Tilt automatically.

Sony provides 256 preset camera position movements that can be selected according to user needs. In fact, the artificial intelligence is also able to ensure that the subject remains in the frame and adjusts the camera settings automatically. Including, Auto Focus, Auto Exposure and Auto White Balance. That way users can make it very easy to shoot live broadcasts like using professional cameras and cameramen.

To take pictures, the SRG-A40 and SRG-A12 are equipped with an Exmor R CMOS sensor. This sensor supports video recording up to 4K 30p and Full HD 60p resolution. The difference between the SRG-A40 and SRG-A12 is in the zoom capability. The SRG-A40 supports up to 30x zoom in 4K resolution and up to 40x in Full HD resolution. Meanwhile, the SRG-A12 only supports zoom up to 12x.

Supported by Sony Clear Image Zoom technology, image quality when zooming is also claimed to still look sharp and clear. Users can also choose three shooting modes utilizing its zoom capabilities, starting from close-ups, waist-up or full body. To make camera settings, users can access it via the Web App application on a PC or tablet.

Other features The SRG-A40 and SRG-A12 have been equipped with PoE++ support, 3G-SDI port, HDMI and IP connectivity to make live broadcasts easier.
