TECNO doesn’t want to be left behind enlivening the world of computing. After introducing its first laptop, the MegaBook T1, at the IFA 2022 event, TECNO is now releasing the MegaBook S1.

Features of TECNO MegaBook S1

Targeting the premium segment, the MegaBook S1 comes with a thin and light body design. The thickness of the body is only 13.5mm. Meanwhile, it weighs around 1.35 Kg. Quite thin and light in the 15.6-inch laptop class. The body design is also very solid by carrying magnesium alloy material.

In the screen sector, the MegaBook S1 carries a 15.6-inch IPS screen panel with a resolution of 3.2K. The screen aspect ratio is 16:10. The screen panel also supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 100% sRGB color coverage. For a maximum screen brightness level of up to 450 nits and is equipped with flicker-free and DC dimming features.

Then what about the specifications? The MegaBook S1 is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor from the 12th Generation Intel Core processor family. A significant increase from the previous MegaBook T1 which uses an 11th generation Intel Core processor, Intel Core i5-1155G7.

The processor is supported by 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and available PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage with a capacity of up to 1TB. Specifications that are powerful enough for daily productivity to light content creation.

One thing that is quite unfortunate is that the MegaBook S1 is not equipped with a Thunderbolt 4 port. For connectivity, there are only two USB-C 3.2 ports, two USB-A 3.2 ports, an audio jack and a microSD memory card slot.

For other features, there are six speakers with DTS X Ultra certification, a webcam with artificial intelligence support, dual microphones and NFC which can be used to speed up pairing with TECNO smartphones.

Price and availability

This laptop will be available in Asian and African markets. The price for the TECNO MegaBook S1 starts at US$1500 for a 512GB SSD capacity.
