This is the difference between Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Series 8

Entering the eighth generation Apple Watch did not come alone. Its presence is accompanied by a new model, the Apple Watch Ultra. Here are the differences between Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Series 8 that you must know.

1. Design

Apple Watch Series 8 retains the design of the Apple Watch Series 7 . No updates. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra comes with a new design.

The body design is tougher with a titanium case material. The Apple Watch Ultra’s button and crown design is also more prominent. So, it will be easier to use when wearing gloves.

2. Size

Apple Watch Series 8 comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm. The Apple Watch Ultra is only one model which is 49mm. That way the Apple Watch Ultra managed to become the first Apple smartwatch with the largest screen size.

3. Weight

Bringing a bigger screen makes the Apple Watch Ultra bigger. It weighs 61.3 grams. Heavier than Apple Watch Series 8 45mm with a weight of about 38.8 grams.

4. Durability

The screens of the Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra are both reinforced with a sapphire crystal finish. However, the water resistance of the two is different. Apple Watch Series 8 to a depth of 50 meters. Apple Watch Ultra can withstand up to 100 meters. Making it ideal for diving companions.

5. Screen brightness level

Apple Watch Series 8 has a maximum screen brightness of 1000 nits. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra maxes out at 2000 nits.

6. Battery life

The Apple Watch Series 8 battery lasts up to approx. 18 hours on a single charge. Apple Watch Ultra is more durable. Can be up to 36 hours. In Low Power mode, the Watch Ultra can last up to 60 hours.

7. Features

Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra bring some of the same new features. For example, body temperature sensors and accident detection sensors.

The difference is, the Apple Watch Ultra has several exclusive features. Among them are sirens with a sound power of 86 decibels that can be heard up to a distance of 182 meters. Then, comes the Wayfinder Watch Face with a compass feature. In addition, there is a Night mode that will change the display on the screen to red in dark conditions.

8. Strap and color options

Apple Watch Series 8 is available in a variety of colors such as midnight, starlight, silver, and (PRODUCT)RED. The cellular version is available in silver, gold and graphite colors.

The Apple Watch Ultra is only available in one color. However, there are three strap options, namely Alpine Loop, Trail Loop and Ocean Band.
