Diligently launching tablets with the Android operating system, Xiaomi has finally released its first Windows tablet with an ARM processor. Named the Xiaomi Book S tablet PC 2-in-1, it will be a tight competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Pro X.
Features of Xiaomi Book S
Xiaomi Book S comes with a premium design. The body carries a thin and light aluminum material. The dimensions of this tablet are around 294 x 197 x 8.95 mm and weighs only 720 grams. Very easy to move around or work outdoors.
In the screen sector, the Xiaomi Book S carries a 12.4-inch touch screen panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This screen supports up to 500 nits of brightness, 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
One thing that is interesting about the Xiaomi Book S is the processor. Xiaomi embeds a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor. It’s a shame that it hasn’t used the latest generation Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3. However, in terms of performance, this 7nm fabricated processor is still one of Qualcomm’s ARM processors that is fast and energy efficient. Its performance is also supported by 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and SSD storage space with a capacity of 256GB.
For battery life, the Xiaomi Book S can be used for up to about 13 hours. The battery also supports the fast recharge feature with a 65W GaN charger.
Other features, the Xiaomi Book S is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front camera that supports facial recognition, dual microphones available and carries 2 W stereo speakers. Xiaomi has also added a USB Type-C port and a microSD slot. For productivity, the Xiaomi Book S also supports the use of a detachable keyboard and a stylus pen.
The stylus pen named Xiaomi Smart Pen is sold separately and supports pressure sensitivity of up to 4096 levels. The pen battery can be used for up to about 8 hours and can be fully recharged in no time. Recharge the stylus pen battery in only about 18 minutes.

The Xiaomi Book S will be available in the European market with prices starting at US$740. For a package with a keyboard and stylus pen costs around US $845.
