Xiaomi does have a special series that comes specifically for selfies. Unlike the Xiaomi 12 Lite, the Xiaomi Civi 2 comes with a completely different design. And brings two front cameras that look similar to Dynamic Island.

Indeed, the Xiaomi Civi 2 is not the first smartphone to carry a dual camera setup for selfies—previously, vendors such as Huawei and Samsung have launched flagships with two front cameras. Only, this time Xiaomi pinned both of them in the middle. Making it look even more similar to the iPhone 14 Pro Series camera, complete with black pixels between the two.

Because it is designed for women, this latest Xiaomi smartphone has a thin and light profile, only 7.23mm and 172 grams, respectively. In addition to the three standard colors (black, pink, blue), the Xiaomi Civi 2 also comes in a special Hello Kitty edition. Then what about the chipset and camera specifications?

There are four LED lights on the front of the Xiaomi Civi 2

On the front, there are two front cameras placed side by side, each with a 32MP resolution. One sensor has autofocus support and an f/2.0 aperture, while the other has a 100-degree ultra-wide angle of view. Suitable for use when you want to take photos together in groups, provide many options for viewing angles.

Xiaomi also embeds a number of software-based technologies such as 3D tracking beauty mode. While above the camera sensor, four LED lights are pinned on the Xiaomi Civi 2. Each lamp can light up in a different color temperature, to produce realistic illumination when taking selfies. The two front cameras are placed on a 6.55-inch screen with full HD + 120Hz AMOLED resolution.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 display supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and 10-bit color. While on the back, there are three different camera sensors. The main sensor is the same as the Xiaomi 12, it’s a 50MP Sony IMX766 with an f/1.8 aperture, and it’s paired with a 20MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. Especially for the main sensor, there is OIS to stabilize video recording.

Xiaomi Civi 2 Price

Being a smartphone that targets the middle class, the Xiaomi Civi 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, and will be available with up to 12GB RAM options and up to 256GB internal storage. For the battery itself, it is still the same 4,500 mAh capacity as the previous generation. But this time it can be charged faster via fast charging 67 watts.

Xiaomi Civi 2 will run MIUI 13 based on Android 12. So that the device does not feel hot when operated, a VC liquid cooling system is provided so that body temperature is maintained. Other extra sensors such as NFC and infrared are still present, so have with dual SIM slots.

On sale in China since yesterday (27/9), the price of the Xiaomi Civi 2 starts at CNY ¥2,399. Of course, this smartphone will be very interesting if it then competes with competitors in its class such as the Vivo V23 5G.
