Not only are the prices getting cheaper, fitness bracelets now also bring a series of increasingly sophisticated features. From Xiaomi, the hero is Mi Smart Band 6. What are the advantages of this Xiaomi sixth generation fitness bracelet? Check out his review as follows.

Design Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6

In the design sector, the Mi Smart Band 6 at first glance still looks similar to its predecessor, the Mi Smart Band 5 . However, the screen size of the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is slightly larger.

The Mi Band 6 screen measures 1.56 inches with a resolution of 152 x 486 pixels. Meanwhile, Mi Band 5 is only 1.1 inches with a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels. Both touch screens carry AMOLED panels. The brightness level supports up to 450 nits. Very bright and not abstinent in very bright lighting conditions.

The increase in screen size and higher screen resolution makes the display on the screen look more pleasing to the eye. The displayed image looks sharp. In addition, the screen has also been reinforced with a layer of scratch-resistant glass. The response of the screen with the touch of a finger is also very good.

For those who often do sports activities, there is no need to worry. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 has been designed to be waterproof to the 5ATM standard. So, can be invited to swim. The rubber strap is also very soft and comfortable to use during daily activities. Removing this smart band module from the strap is also very quick and easy.

Mi Band 6 is not equipped with navigation buttons. For navigation only rely on the touch of a finger on the panel only. Meanwhile, charging the battery is made easier by the presence of a magnetic dock. So, there is no need to remove the module from the strap.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 Interface

Mi Smart Band 6 comes with a simple interface and is very easy to use. To select an app you just need to swipe up or down the screen. Swipe left or right to find the weather widget and music player controls.

In the main interface of the standard display the information displayed is heart rate, time, date, battery, and number of steps. Meanwhile, if you want to see more detailed daily activities, see Status or PAI.

Features of Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6

Indeed, the features in the Mi Smart Band 5 can also be found on the Mi Smart Band 6. For example, the sports mode. The Mi Smart Band 6 has 30 sport modes. The choices are outdoor running, walking, cycling, indoor running, swimming, exercise, indoor cycling, elliptical machine, skipping rope, yoga, rowing machine, Indoor fitness, Indoor ice skating, HIIT, Core training, Stretching, Stepper, Gymnastics, Pilates, Street dance, Dance, Zumba, Cricket, Bowling, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Badminton, Boxing, and Kickboxing.

It is classified as complete even though some sports activities are still less popular for users in Indonesia. A heart rate monitoring sensor can also be found on this fitness bracelet. In fact, Xiaomi has now added an SpO2 monitoring feature to monitor blood oxygen levels. Other features include stress detection support, breathing guidance and women’s health cycle monitoring. Xiaomi Band 6 also provides a sleep pattern monitoring feature.

All of these contemporary features can indeed be found in other fitness bracelets. However, there is one feature that we think is very interesting from Mi Band 6. This feature is a watchface with 60 themes. So, it’s not boring and you can choose the watchface interface that suits your individual taste and style. Very suitable for users who like to change styles.

Performance of Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6

We use Mi Smart Band 6 everyday to monitor activity or cycling friends. One plus point Mi Smart Band 6 supports automatic tracking of sports activity. So, it will automatically enter the sport mode by detecting movement activity. Tracking will also stop automatically if you pause for a break.

The level of activity tracking accuracy is quite good. All the data collected can be displayed through the Mi Fit application in quite a detailed and informative manner. You can get activity data including distance traveled, duration, route, speed, heart rate to calories burned.

Meanwhile, when used for sleep from our tests the Mi Smart Band 6’s sleep tracking capabilities were less accurate. In the lying position and still not asleep this fitness bracelet will count you have started sleeping in the Light Sleep position. But, interestingly, its sleep pattern tracking feature can also make it possible to monitor breathing patterns during sleep. This is important for early detection of respiratory problems during sleep. In addition, you can also get useful analytical information and suggestions to improve sleep quality. Keep in mind that if this feature is active, the battery life will be shorter.

To measure the level of oxygen in the blood the ability of the SpO2 sensor is also quite accurate. However, sometimes less consistent. For accuracy, from our tests, the measurement results can only differ by one to two points if we compare it to the smartwatches we usually use, namely the Fitbit Versa and the Huawei GT2e Smartwatch.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 . Battery

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 is powered by a 125mAh battery. Xiaomi promises around 2 weeks of battery life for normal use. From our tests with moderately intense use for activity tracking and sports friends the battery life can last up to about 10 days.

Conclusion

Overall, Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 still inherits similar features and designs from the previous generation, Mi Smart Band 5. However, it is undeniable that the screen size is slightly larger and the additional SpO2 feature makes it better than Mi Smart Band 5.

Complete fitness monitoring features, multiple exercise modes, very comfortable for everyday use and long battery life, worth its low selling price. We highly recommend this fitness bracelet for users who just want to use a fitness bracelet to start a healthy lifestyle and don’t want to look at smart watches.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 is suitable for:

New users who want to own a fitness bracelet : This fitness bracelet is very comfortable to use. Its ease of use and relatively complete features are suitable for users who are new to using a fitness bracelet.

Sports enthusiasts: A comprehensive range of exercise modes, a waterproof design and SpO2 sensor support make this fitness band the ideal workout buddy.
